We started by testing a FL Studio Mac OS X BETA (Crossover Wrapped) version with direct installation on Mac OS X. Will there ever be a native Mac OS X release of FL Studio?

The release of a Mac version of FL Studio 12 – expected some time in 2015 – will pitch the DAW against Propellerhead Reason, currently the closest Mac alternative.Ī Windows beta version of FL Studio 12 was released for testing earlier this month.Ĭheck out the full statement from Image-Line below: Some users have turned to alternatives including Boot Camp and Parallels Desktop, while we’ve also heard of at least a couple of pro producers who switched to Logic or Ableton on the Mac but kept a PC around just to run FL Studio now and again.

The company’s Knowledge Base FAQ entry on the subject has been updated to reflect the news, with the company explaining that the development team had completed work on native OS X versions of a number of FL Studio’s built-in instruments, and have now moved on to a native version of the forthcoming FL Studio 12 application itself.Ī version of the software ‘wrapped’ using Codeweavers CrossOver was released last year as a public beta for existing FL Studio licence holders, but poor third-party plugin support always made it an unsatisfactory solution.

Awesome, awesome synth and it doesn't get enough credit.until now.Big news for FL Studio fans as developers Image-Line confirm that the DAW will be released as a native Mac application. The filters attack and envelope attack suprised me with this one. But the control with how smooth and effortless it flows, makes it awesome. In my opinion its not about the engine ( of course it makes a huge difference) because these days they are all almost good( even some free ones). When it comes to virtual synthesis we all know they have the same characteristics. Great presets as well but very simple to dial in your own sounds. It makes it awesome to blend in a mix without losing punch. Loads of possibilities but I love the fact that there is four layers of sub frequencies that are easily adjustable. What is exciting here is the eq and filter section. From basses to pads and leads it does everything well. This is extremely punchy for a digital synth and very beefy. After messing with some presets I quickly realized the sonic potential of this synth and upgraded. I received this when I bought FL studio but only as a demo. But even after nearly a decade (as of review), not a SINGLE developer has tried to contest Harmor of it's additive-subtractive power yet. Harmor does not appear to have a "bright future" ahead of it because it has not received any major quality of life updates since launch in 2011. Try as you might, it simply just will not be able to hold up to Harmor in terms of the additive-subtractive capabilities. You can't find anything like Harmor anywhere else. The UI design is strange but you will get used to it, I promise. You then get the benefit of said additive engine. It's no longer audio, it is synthesized nearly 1:1. Once you resynthesize something, it puts it into Harmor's complex additive engine. Nor do any of them have the accuracy of this resynthesis with an addition of an addition engine like this. But none of them have a unique modulation list for every single parameter. Sure, there's other additive subtractive synths, and synths with resynthesis.
